FINANCIAL TIMES TOP 300
The rating of Top 300 in the FT 300 is based on several factors set by the Financial Times which they list as; AUM, AUM growth rate, Companies’ years in existence, compliance record (evidence of past client disputes), industry certifications (CFA, CFP, etc), and online accessibility. According to the financial times, AUM accounted for an average of 70 to 75 percent of each adviser’s score, three-year asset growth accounted for an average of 15 percent. Additionally, the FT caps the number of advisory companies from any one state, based roughly on the distribution of millionaires across the US. The FT presents the Top 300 is presenting an elite group, not a competitive ranking of one to 300. 740 RIAs applied, and 300 made the ranking list. InvestmentNews qualified 2,172 firms headquartered in the United States based on data reported on Form ADV to the Securities and Exchange Commission as of May 1, 2018. To qualify, firms must have met the following criteria: (1) latest ADV filing date is either on or after Jan. 1, 2017, (2) total AUM is at least $100M, (3) does not have employees who are registered representatives of a broker-dealer, (4) provided investment advisory services to clients during its most recently completed fiscal year, (5) no more than 50% of amount of regulatory assets under management is attributable to pooled investment vehicles (other than investment companies), (6) no more than 25% of amount of regulatory assets under management is attributable to pension and profit-sharing plans (but not the plan participants), (7) no more than 25% of amount of regulatory assets under management is attributable to corporations or other businesses, (8) does not receive commissions, (9) provides financial planning services, (10) is not actively engaged in business as a broker-dealer (registered or unregistered), (11) is not actively engaged in business as a registered representative of a broker-dealer, (12) has neither a related person who is a broker-dealer/municipal securities dealer/government securities broker or dealer (registered or unregistered) not one who is an insurance company or agency.

The rating or ranking in this publication is based on assets under management (AUM) as of 12/31/2018. The information for these rankings is based on the ADV reports filed with the SEC. The rating of 2019 Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor is based off several factors set by the Forbes and SHOOK Research. Forbes states the ranking are “based on an algorithm of qualitative criterion, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of four years' experience, and the algorithm weighs factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass the highest standards of best practices. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Neither Forbes nor SHOOK receive a fee in exchange for rankings.” There were 29,334 nominations received, based on thresholds set by Forbes and SHOOK. The rating of 2020 Best-In-State Wealth Advisors is based off several factors set by the Forbes and SHOOK Research. According to Forbes the requirements for the list include; 7 years as an advisor, minimum 1 year at current firm, Advisor must be recommended, and nominated, by Firm, completion of online survey, over 50% of revenue/production must be with individuals, acceptable compliance record. Both quantitative and qualitative factors, including telephone and in-person meetings are used to determine the list. Factors include revenue/production, AUM, client related data (such as retention), service model, investing process, fee structure, breadth of services, credentials, community involvement, use of team & team dynamics, community involvement and discussions with management and peers. There were 32,000 nominations received, based on thresholds set by Forbes and SHOOK. Jeff Eulberg was not the top-ranked advisor in this ranking.
